During their rigorous thousand-day ascetic practice, the monks of Enryaku-ji Temple walk the temple's approach day and night. As the sun sets, their only light source is a small lantern made of metal and paper, each lit with a single candle. After dusk, follow the monks through the temple grounds and experience the mystique of the forest with heightened senses.

Please use Parking Lot 1 in the East Tower area (next to the Enryaku-ji Bus Center). Guests staying overnight should use the Enryaku-ji Kaikan parking lot. (Parking Lot 1 → Disaster Prevention Road)
